Default OBD-II port location

Hi, I'm trying to help my bud scan his car for a CEL. I can't find his OBD-II port in the usual location, low on the instrument panel, between the steering column and door. Any ideas? It's a `96 Civic coupe.

Thanks!

You don't need to use the OBDII port, just find the blue service connector in the passenger side footwell, jump it, and count how many times the CEL blinks:

Thanks for your help. Do you know if it is possible to physically relocate the port?

I don't see why you couldn't extend the wires to wherever you wanted to put it, but I've never heard of anyone having the need to do this.

the OBD connector should be easy to spot by just looking under the dash on the drivers side
