s2 has around 200 at the wheels stock right? I think a WS6 would beat it still.

My friend's s2 with Mugen i/e/h, vafc, ecu and stuff has about 230 at the wheels.

That's what I'm thinking here.

"Uhhh...I think it runs about 12.5."

"Yeah? What's it put down?

"230."

"Oh. Yeah. That's cool, dude."

i would rather have the ws6 because it is american made and actually has some balls common, american made cars are not as poorly made as you think. i believe buick is one of the most reliable cars in the country ahead of honda. according to jd power and assc. buick had way less problems mechanically per 100 cars. than honda. im sorry if i am being an ass. i am just sick and tired of everybody thinking "oh, its an american car" "it will fall apart" thats b.s think what you want, but you are ignorant. i myself like all kinda off cars american or import. i especially like the s2000, but lets not kid outselvs here the ws6 stock would absolutly destroy the s2000 even with bolt ons. ls1's are are very underrated from the factory. most ls1's dyno with over 300 rwhp. and with a rating of 310 for lets say a z28, i would say they put out anyware near 340-350 stock. thats why many ls1's 'properly driven, even auto's can be high 12's stock or at least lid and cutout. thats my .02

Don't be so sure of that..... Buicks are good, no doubt. They are probably the best Detroit offers right now. But they still lag behind Honda. Honda's long term reliability still blows any Buick away. The 3800 is about a 180-200,000 mile engine, while any Honda engine is good for over 250k. I'm not trying to argue, because I think Buick has decent reliability. But it is not like a Honda. Not to mention, Buicks lack in the fun to drive department. My Mom's LeSabre is a friggin floaty boat..... I hate driving it.

Yea, I'm tired of hearing that crap too. If they were poorly made, I really think that it was from the past and not now. American made cars are alot more reliable nowadays.

There are two major components to the JD Power rankings: the Initial Quality Survey (IQS), which is a Consumer Reports-like opinion survey, and the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) which is a real statistical survey of warranty repair issues after three years of ownership.

There are 16 categories in the IQS. Toyota/Lexus won 6, Ford 3, GM 3, Mazda 2, Mercedes 1, and Honda 1.

Interesting quote from the survey - "While Domestics trailed their European and Japanese counterparts by at least 19 PP100 five years ago, Domestics and Europeans are now equal, and both trail the Japanese by 9 PP100."

There are 17 categories in the VDS. Toyota/Lexus won 9, Ford 3, GM 3, Porsche 1 (which really surprised me), and Acura 1 (the RL gets the Midsize Luxury Car award).

The worst in the world in dependability? Kia and Daewoo are the worst, and 12 of the worst 13 are imports, including Mitsubishi, both Audi and Volkswagen, and Mercedes Benz. Surprised?

Buick, Cadillac, and Lincoln all score better than Honda with Mercury just a tick below. Buick trails Lexus and Infiniti overall, though.

Don't shoot the messenger...

I said that if you had a long enough track the S2000 would eventually catch up to the Firebird, not that it would walk past it.
Well, its been said in a later post but I'll add some factual information to this post. All LS1 powered F-bodies are electronically limited to 168mph. Thats right, they are LIMITED to 168mph. Top speed is slightly higher than that. The speed rating is in place due to the tires maximum speed rating.

I recently started buying parts for my GTA. So far I have the induction, cam, and exhaust sitting in boxes waiting for the last parts to arrive. The last part are the heads which I haven't bought yet because I'm still shopping around. I'm looking at some Iron Lightning 180cc heads that flow 268cfm on the intake and 194cfm on the exhaust, and leave plenty of room for porting. The Dyno 2000 simulations are showing roughly 400hp @ 5,500rpm and 486lb/ft @ 3,750rpm with an upgraded tuned port induction. With a tunnel ram the numbers shoot to 440hp and about 460lb/ft torque at the crank.

I don't trust my transmission to stand behind such a monster so I'll have to do something about that when I put the package on my car.
