Launching @ 7k is a fucking horrible idea...
if you'd like your car to remain running, i'd suggest against it...

GSR_Sedan, the only way you're not wheel hopping at the track launching that high is if you're REALLY slipping your clutch... I feel bad for your car.

I slip from 4-5k, and ran a 15.665 with a old clutch (stock's supposed to be 15.5)

Shifting @ rev limiter also isn't a good idea, shift at optimum power, where your torque drops off (I think it was @ 6,800revs?)

So YOUR going to try and tell me it's worth letting your power die down before each shift?

ok, go run your car shifting at redline then go run your car shifting 1400RPM earlier then see which one runs faster, i know the answer, you must not. you have to take into account gear ratio, FD, tire size etc. i shift about 400RPM after my peak power so then i can land higher in the powerband in the next gear for example.

Go ahead and show me your perfect track time then....

"Taking gear ratio into account" would only prove you wrong, because your power would drop back down before your shift... if you're shifting the way you should, "being higher in the power ban for your next gear" means nothing from your statements..

Don't run your mouth about "who knows the answers and who must not" when you're claiming you launch at fucking 7 grand... I feel sorry for your car.

I'm running Drag radials and i shift 1-200 rpm before Redline. I also Launch at 5-6k rpm.

60ft 2.1
1/8 9.7 consistant.

I'm going to the track the 18th and test these shift point ideas and try a 7,000 rpm launch. When i did do it it would catch and i use what? 1-2k rpm in 1st gea, then shift and bog.

We'll see.
