99 Civic EX Vs 99 Escort Zx2
Ok i have a 1999 Civic EX with MTX Tranny and my buddy has a 1999 Ford Escort Zx2 also with a MTX tranny and he said he could prolly take me, what do u guys think :thinking:

According to my sources, your Civic should run a quarter mile in 16.6 seconds (give or take 1/10 of a second in either direction) and a ZX2 runs it in 16.3.....he should beat you unless he can't drive.

unfortunately, I would think with the same mods, he would still be faster....and probably by a larger amount than in stock form. He's got a larger displacement engine than you, and a general rule (although not always the case) is that the larger the engine, the better gains you get from mods.

first: 3 tenths of a second is not enough to matter unless we are talking bracket cars... your tipical street car can really vary run to run.. so id say if its on the street whoever drives better will win... if its on the track he has a slight edge..
secondly: who cares really... no offense.. but, who careswho is faster when there are mini vans out there that could take you... theres NOTHING wrong with racing. or being proud of your car.. but racing two bone stock econo boxes is really kinda pointless..
