Too close for a bet. If the new clutch grabs as good as he thinks, the LT1 might have the edge. We'll see.

um...........my car doesnt say firebird anywhere on it(and yes it is still factory badged) it says trans am on the sides and on the back.

firbird equals=v6
trans am equals=v8

not to difficult, and no he wonttake me on top end.

There are 2 f-body cars. A camaro and a firebird. You have one of these. You just have options (RPOs) that make it a Trans Am, SS, Formula, Z28, whatever.
Alsthough you are right that your car doesn't say firebird on it, that's because it doesn't have the "firebird" RPO for the firebird. (Yes, confusing.)
Some Firebird RPO codes

i agree with you on the formula part, but as to the rest i wont admit to having a firbird,lol, it just not in me to type it.
