Default Sidemarkers flashing too slow

I installed a pair of sidemarkers.......and now the turn signals blink really slow. Does anyone know why it would do this?
The stock light on the bumper has the exact same bulb type - a small single filament bulb (slides into place). I would really appreciate some help on how to get it flashing back to normal (or faster, if possible). Thanks alot.

I'm going to completely guess here, but maybe the blink rate is controlled my a capacitive circuit where the timing is a function of the resistance fo the circuit, which you've altered(increased probably), and changed the discharge rate of the cap.

Did you wire the sidemarkers in series with your existing turn signals, try wiring them in parallel see what happens.
