Well, you're going to have to drill holes in the side of your car, where you want the sidemarkers. You have to avoid and make sure you're not drilling through anything important (wiring, sensors, interior paneling) and you need to make sure the side markers are mounted in the same location on both sides. You'll want the hole to be somewhere that you can see or get at the back of it for wiring and mounting purposes.

Once you get the holes, the sidemarkers are sometimes held in by bolts, or some sort of adhesive. You'll have to run wiring to either a switch, to your headlights, or your turn signals (depending on when you want your sidemarkers on).

You also need to make sure that your wiring job doesn't run on any metal, such as the hole you made in the side of the car.

I'd suggest some LED sidemarkers....

Sidemarkers
Switch (Depends on when you want your sidemarkers on)
Extra Wire (Gauge depends on whether LEDs or not)
Drill
Adhesive
Basic tools - screwdrivers, screws, wire cutters and strippers, some of those crimp connectors if you need to attach longer wire

If any wiring is outside the car, I strongly suggest that its soldered together with a piece of heat shrink tube used to cover it. A little electrical tape around the heat shrink tube doesn't hurt either.

I've never done side markers, but I've done a few sets of fog lights.

Anyone know the exact measurements are on 5th gen jdm accords? Oh and do they stay on with the corner light or only light up with the bumper signal?

I was planning on getting the small sidemarkers on the Jetta and hook them up to only flash with the hazards.

anyways ahhh its really easy if you dont drill i mean if your lazy you can just take the plastic off and just pop it in and then wire it all up...

you know the side moldings there are 3 parts to the line... well the smallest part on the fender take it off and put in your markers in there and thats it...
