wow i didn't know that carbon fiber hoods faded so fast :dunno:

 

if i throw some was on it the oxidation goes away for a little bit then it comes back after a couple of days. after that damn florida sun hits it.

 

One of the biggest problems with carbon fiber hoods fading is because people use wax on them. CF hoods do not have a clear coat on them. They use a different process all together. The wax will fade and ghost the protective coating.

 

ya definately what he said..even with the clear coat im afraid to wax it b/c i dont want swirls on it...everytime i just wash it, it comes out perfect anyways.

 

What can you use to clean up the carbonfiber hood to keep it shinny?

dont go cheap and get a grade B hood.

 

i dont know if i would use windex on it. ammonia cant be good for anything. I wouldnt even use it to clean you plastic infront of your guages. it will begin to fade that and put a film over it. find a boat polish. the same protective coating on a boat's paint is the same glaze on the cf hoods.
