I was getting set to replace the valve stem seals in my 1.5litre, 16 valve head. I was reading the Haynes book on the subject. The book has a section on this job, but in the beginning of the section, it says that the instructions don't apply to 16 valve heads.Does anybody know a reason for this? Is it not possible to change the valve stem seals on a 16 valve head just like any other, ie 12 valve head? Thanks for any help on this matter.

 

it is possible that the spring compressor tool is different. Most stem seal extractor tools are similar. And the stem seal installer tools are not different.
Has to be the spring "squeezin" contraption. Good luck.
