Default Replacing clock light

The light in the clock of my 99 3.2 TL burned out, and my dealer quoted a price of $125 to replace it, claiming that it involved 1-1/2 hours of labor. Is it possible to do this myself? I'm no mechanic, but fairly handy with tools.

Thanks

You have to remove the instrument panel.

Instrument Panel Removal/Installation

NOTE:

When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
Tilt the steering column down.
Remove the steering column upper cover.

Remove the instrument panel (A).
Remove the screws.
Gently pull out along the bottom to release the lower clips (B), then along the top to release the remaining clips (B and C).
Disconnect the TCS/cruise control main switch connector (D), moon roof switch connector (E), select/reset switch connector (F) and hazard warning switch connector (G). Without navigation unit, disconnect the clock connector and climate control unit connectors.
Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and make sure each connector is plugged in properly.

Clock

Replacement

An hour and a half :lmao:

Default Great Instructions

Thanks very much for the detailed instructions. But since it looks like it would take me at least a day and involve the possibility of terminal frustration, I think I'll pay the $125 and let the dealer do it. (swallowing a portion of pride, since I ranted at the service manager about gouging)

Are you kidding me? It would take you about an hour, tops, for a first timer. All you have to do is remove one single plastic piece.
