well i was bored and couldnt really find a full writeup on installing jdm sidemarkers on a eg, so i decided to make one.
I started off by measuring the sidemarkers with a caliper, so i would know how big of a hole to make in the fender. this is what i came up with:

After that, i drew it on a thin piece of sheet metal so i could practice cutting. I cut it out using a dremel with a cutting wheel. After that i tested to see how the fitment was and made minor modifications until I got it perfect. Heres a pic:

I then taped the area of the fender that i would be cutting with blue masking tape. The reason i did this was because it was easier to write on and it protected the paint. I used measurements i found in another sidemarker diy to determine the location of the sidemarker on the fender. heres a pic of where the sidemarker should be located:
And heres a pic of the taped fender and the markings showing where to put the sidemaker:

i then taped the sheet metal onto the fender and used it as a stencil to draw the outline. Heres a pic:
This is what it looked like after I took off the sheet metal stencil:
I then put the front off the car up on jackstands, removed the wheels, and took out the plastic wheel well cover.
Now i started cutting. Tip: Dont cut for too long, it will cause the paint to get hot and burn off.
First I cut out a rough shape like this:
After that I carefully shaved little by little, until i got the right fit.
After that i took off the tape, added some black silcone sealer to the edges, and popped the sidemarker in!
Now it was time to move onto the wiring. I didnt want to run the wiring through the engine bay, so I decided to run it along the top of the wheel well cover. I started by unplugging the turn signal bulb from the corner housing and then taking out the bulb. there was three wires: black, red, and green. i look at my sidemarker bulb assembly and it had a black wire and a green wire coming out.
All i had was some black wire and some white wire, so black=black and white=green. I spliced the black turn signal wire with the black wire and the green turn signal wire with the white wire using some splice connectors.
I then connected the black wires and the green and white wire and the marker assembly.
After that I plugged the wiring and bulb assembly into the back of the sidemarker, taped the wires down to the inside of the wheel well cover and screwed it back in.
Heres the results:
Well that was my first DIY writeup. sorry for the blurry pics, i was in a hurry and it was getting late. PM me or just post if you got any questions.
