Default How much work to replace a radiator?

I have a 92 4-Door Honda Civic DX with AT. The radiator is shot and I need to replace it. To save some money, and for a fun project, I'm thinking of doing the labor myself.

I went to the bookstore and looked through the Chilton manual and it looked very straightforward. I'm a mechanically inclined person, but have never done any serious work on a car before.

How many hours do you guys think such a project might take? Are there any tips or suggestions that would come in handy if this is my first real car project? Any special tools to pick up before I start? From the manual it looks like it's just a matter of removing some hoses, plugs, and bolts before the whole thing just slides on out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

It's pretty easy. You might have the pull the fans out though.

Yea, pretty much straight foward... Dont forget to buy some anti-freeze, cuz you will have to flush the system, and refill it once the new one is in...

its a dx, so im assumeing theres no ac condenser in the way... it should be very easy, just get a ratchet set, screw drivers, pliers, coolant, music in the backgrond and some cold beer.. its going to be all good

The ac condenser should be in front of the radiator anyway, so you just need to pull the fans out and disconnect the hoses to the radiator and pull it out.
