clutch safety switch or whatever its called
as some of you might know, the 88 crx's dont have a saftey thing so you cant start the car without having the clutch disengaged. this means the car starts in gear or out of gear without having the clutch pedal down. I dont like this I think its kind of unsafe for the car because sometimes you might have to lend it out to someone and they dont know about the clutch thing and try and start the car in gear; granted they would have to be ignorant to even try to start the car without pushing down the clutch pedal, it may happen. so on the my question, is it possible to install a safety cut off or whatever it is thats installed on other cars so that you cant start the car without the clutch pedal down? and if it is, is there a write up on it on the internet somewhere that someone would know? thanks for your help

I think it would be more of a hassle than anything else. You could have a button that completes the ignition circuit mounted where the clutch pedal touches the floor. You would need to tap into the wiring of the ignition circuit and then find a button/switch that would work and mount it. I personally wouldn't let anyone borrow my car if they didn't know that the clutch had to be disengaged when starting the car whether it will actually start or not.
