need help to install new radiator: 94 5spd civic
i am a citadel cadet and i'm home for the holidays. i am trying to replace my old radiator with a newly-purchased one except i'm not too sure how to do it. any help on specific steps would be much appreciated. thanks!
its pretty easy. just drain the radiator, drain the engine block and unhook the coolant lines. then remove the top mounts and disconnect all the wiring attached to the fans. then just lift it up. the put the new one in, and fill the radiator with coolant and bleed the air out the cooling system. if you need a service manual for your car, visit: http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/.
or if you just want a general idea of what is involved, visit this site(i know its for integras, but it gives you a good idea of what is involved: http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=763

do not cut these ....their are factory clamps that you can take off with plyers replace these with screw clamps along with all of the other clamps there are 4 hoses you will need to disconnect but its best if you drain the radiator first.......your fan that is connected to to the radiator un plug it once you have disconnected all hoses and fan wire un bolt top radiator mount and pull it out fan and all disconnect fan from olde radiator and put it on the new one remove all protective caps ....slide new radiator with old fan back in the car....re connect top mount ......put all hoses on" with new clamps"...."make sure you can get to them to screw them down"....screw them downre fill your radiator....."and if you have tranny fluid fill it to "" if you dont have tranny fluid ...."well by this point youll know if you got it or not"" dont worry about it.......i did mine my selfe with all parts and fluids on hand in my drive way in a bout 45 minuets i just took my time ........take you time if it is your first time diong a radiator swap you will save money and if it messes up you will know where to look ..........................oh what kind of car do you have cause i just told you how to do a 1994 honda anyway hope this helps ya out peace and happy new year hbm
