I have recently purchased a 90 Civic DX that is hard to shift. The shifter really feels snug. It works ok, but is very tight to pull.
Is there a shifter cable or linkage or something that can be adjusted??
Is this a common problem?

Be sure your clutch is engaging all the way. Adjust your clutch cable. If that's not it, try changing the tranny fluid with a thin synthetic oil. If that's not it, it could be your tranny internals are messed up. Or it could be the shift linkage maybe.
