oil filter seal bursting.. need help!!!!
i have an 88 accord. three weeks ago the oil filter i installed two weeks prior broke at the oring and naturally sprayed all the oil from the engine. i then replaced the oil filter thinking oil filter was just faulty. lasted three days. did it again... this time it didn't break but blew the oil filter oring out of it's groove. replaced it again and week and a half later(today), blew out again. haven't checked if oring is broken yet though. anyway, each time these things blow, it's always after turning on the car after it has sat overnight or from a long day of parking. been using fram filters since i got the car 7 yrs ago and these last three filters couldn't be all faulty.
need help bad. does anyone here know if the oil pump can build up that much pressure to blow out oil filter seals? if it is a build up of pressure, what could it be caused by?
thanks

Check the adapter ( the thing with the thread ) that the oil filter spins on to...that could be loose....
There is a pressure relief valve that is supposed to stop such things from happening but if it were to build enough pressure to do that, then you could say goodbye to alot of your gaskets and seals...
Are you overfilling the oil? That could cause an increase in pressure...
Oh yea...STOP USING FRAM FILTERS....
