The passenger side door handle on my 91 accord has broken, the plastic around the silver handle has broken off so that is hard but not impossible to open the door. I have a replacement handle, but now need to find out how to install it. I imagine I have to get the door panel off to do so, but I don't know how to do that. Does anyone have tips on how to get this done?

 

I have a 92 Accord that I removed the door panel for just yesterday. I amagine it would be the same. OK first of all there are plastic bolt covers in a few different places. use a small flathead screwdriver to pop those off. Now take those screws out. Don't forget about the one that is inside the door handle plastic area and the one in the ...device that you use to pull the door shut. I hope you can figure that one out. Starting at the bottom rear of the door pop the door panel away from the door. Do this all the way around the bottom. Then you have to kind of push the panel out of the window frame area. Now you just need to undo the clip that holds the powerlock button. And then there are some various wire harness clips for other things you need to pop out. Don't worry they are all color coded so you will be able to put them back correctly. The handle itself has to be disconnected from the linkage to the actuator. This only requires a small flathead to pop the linkage out of the clip and out of the handle. O.K. thats as much as i had to do now you have to wrestle with some springs but good luck.
