If you are just going to do some blacking out, I don't think you have to strip anything. Just make sure to use alchohol or something of that sort to clean and strip any foreign objects. You should use VHT Niteshades paint, this should be available at your local hobby store, or automotive store...you can also use tint for R/C cars. Hope this helps...

but are you talking about doing it from the outside? i was talking about opening the tail lights and doing from the inside..
