Default river guy wants swap

Engine blown (b16b1), I need a engine swap and I want to know what kind of block to throw in. I drive a '99 teg LS AUTO. I would like to drop in a motor with more power and little mods. my mechanic found a motor with 81K for $1k, I think that's really high. The neighborhood performance shop said they could find me a replacement longblock for $750, but I don't know if i can trust them.

You don't have a B16B1.

heh.. yea b16b1's are pretty damn hard to find. if you really do have one just rebuild the darn thing. but yea long blocks are nice too. good ol b20's. these usually go for about 8-900 bux. just make sure you see the damn thing before you buy it. id also consider going with a manual transmission. at first i thought it'd be pretty hard. but from what i hear it should be pretty easy. it's just having the cash to do so.
