Default Getting Rid of Rust...

I have a little bit of rust by my rear wheels on both sides, One side is now down to the bear metal, just a little tho, i was wondering if there was any sites that can tell me how to do it myself, or if someone could give me the steps to get rid of it, thanks again.

im not completely sure how to do body work, but i imagine you will have to sand down to bare metal. then patch pith bondo or some other type of body filler. then sand that down. and then i suppose paint. when you paint it, it might be better to do that entire lip, you know where they bend the mtel downwardso it is just not bubble shaped all the way down. this way it is a little more difficult to tell there was ever a problem because the sun shows alot, but with the proper techniques you can hide some flaws

yea its not all that difficult. Get a fine grit sand paper and sand it down really well then use bondo to fill. I would recommend using some sort of rust inhibitor or protector before painting. I personal used "Rust Check"(found and any automotive store, Walmart, Canadian Tire etc) and it acts as a primer also.

Sand it like mad. From how it looks right now, body filler is probably not needed.

Sand, prime, paint.

it might be. the paint might just be holding the metal together, you know what i mean. it shouldnt have spread any further by the looks of it. ihelped restore an old challenger and it had some spots very similar to that, and when i sanded it down, the paint had held up small pieces of metal that had reusted, so a small amount of body filler was needed.

Get a shoe grinder (or just sandpaper but it takes longer) and grind it down until you see bare metal. Buy some FIBERGLASS filler, not bondo and lightly touch it up, just enough to cover the bare metal.

Primer, resand, primer and paint. Done.

Weld a sheetmetal plate under the hole, fill with a very thin later of body filler, sand, and paint.
