Hey guys, I just bought an 04 Civic EX and I want to start changing some simple parts. Does anyone know how to switch out the shift knob in the new style civics?

I'm not an idiot, I know they screw off, but the OEM shift knob has stupid clips which the shift boot clips too. How do I change out the shift knob so the top of the shift boot doesn't just hang freely?

Any suggestions?

 

I changed out the shift boot also...in the '98 the boot hung down so the shifter showed. Went with a MOMO knob and boot.
