Default Cam timing D16Z6 Pully marks

I will be parting my motor together soon and there are five notchs on the crank rod pully, one with a red mark, I know they mark top dead center, can I set my cam timing to one of the different marks?? Will it effect the top end power low end power or bend valves??? Which notch should i use to set the cam timing and which should I use to set the ignition timing???

the different marks indicated retarded or advanced timing....retarding the timing is usually done to prevent detonation aka for turbo, nitrous etc. you can slightly advance your timing if you like to give you a very little more throttle response.
