Erm... why not? If you have the power (oven & patience) to open them, do it. People dont because its a pain. I'd highly suggest the clearcoat to help the glossiness but I guess you could skip it if you were lazy...

 

just go buy red/clears lots better IMHO

This will be going on a 94 Integra LS.

I was trying to find the all-red taillights of the later Integra models, but the prices were pretty high, so I found out about this DIY project and decided to give it a shot.

Hmm, maybe I will just use my stock taillights for this project to save myself the 30-50 dollars for the clear lights...

I also have done this mod a few years ago and had no issues with the color fading and I live in Florida. Don't forget before you reapply the taillights wet sand the paint to get a smooth crisp finish.

 

u should throw a clear coat on there just to be safe

 

looks good.. and nice write up... but you really should use some clear coat...
