Default Deep scratch in Red

I have a red car which acquired an interesting deep scratch. It seems "deeper" than most scratches I have seen, and when I touch it up with paint (brush) It still leaves a noticeable difference in depth. It also appears a darker color because of this (?). I was thinking I would apply more paint, then use some scratch-X to rub it down, and repeat that a few times. I'm selling this car and I'm not willing to invest thousands to fix this little scratch Comments?

do you know how to use a buffer and rubbing compound?

if you do. touch the paint up until the scratch is filled in, if you go outside the scratch its ok. then take some 2500 grit sand paper and wet sand over the scratch getting the excess off , be sure not to go through the clear. then buff it with some rubbing compound. this should make it very less noticeable.
