I am looking to paint my replacement hood to match my silver 98 civic ex. Would I be able to get away with using single stage paint seeing as my paint job is already 8 years old? Has anyone used single stage, does it look good? Also, how many coats do you use and when do I sand?:run:

IMO, try polishing the car up really good first and see what the condition of the paint is. Then you might get a better clue to approach the hood.
