Default Paint Sealant

Does anyone know about paint sealant? It's supposed to give a layer of protection on top of your clear coat. It's different from wax I was told. *sigh* I miss the time when I first got my 03 Accord, it was so shiny.
Hahaha...

Well if anyone knows, maybe can point to me some good brands?
A friend gave me the following two:
http://www.jeffswerkstatt.com/acrylic-jett-trigger.php
http://www.topoftheline.com/optimumcarwax.html
I don't know which is better.

For paint sealants, your friend gave you some good suggestions.

My personal favorite is Menzerna Full Mollecular Jacket 16oz or 32oz

Klasse All-In-One (AIO) and High Gloss Sealant Glaze (HGSG) are also great suggestions as well, although the HGSG can be difficult to remove.

Sealants are different than waxes in the sense that a wax does not have nearly the durability a sealant can provide. Typical time frame for a wax is 2 - 8 weeks, for a sealant 3 - 8+ months. Waxes will give you more of that wet look and hard candy type effect, its a deeper look. Sealants typically give you more of a reflective look.

Chances are if you lost that pop in your paint, chances are you will need to polish the paint if you really want to restore the depth and gloss to the max.

Let me know if you need any help selecting products.

Sincerely,

All waxes aren't created equal. All sealants aren't created equal. Waxes that rival sealants for durability - Collinite Insulator Wax and Meguiars #16.

Sealants that aren't that durable - Wolfgang, EX-P. Choose wisely.

Sealants are synthetic while waxes are mostly organic. And sealants usually come in spray form, while waxes usually come in a paste. Today with thousands of different products out there, they all come mixed and matched.

You can compare waxes vs sealants vs ceramic coatings vs PPF here:
https://www.ceramiccoatexpert.com/po...sealant-vs-ppf

You'' get more info on what each is, how it protects the paint of your car and how it stacks against the others. From there you'll have much more info to work with and you'll be able to make a better decision on what's best for your car.
