Default From HF to Si or ZC?

You'd have to swap tranny, axles, engine (of course), and ECU.

Anything else? What do used Si tranny's cost?

What ECU would I use to change from reading 8 valve to 16 valve? Where would I be able to get an ECU?

you'd also have to get si or dx front knuckles b/c the hf had smaller axles

if you get a zc get it with everything (typical swap)...engine/tranny/zc ecu...you can use si axles

same thing with the si...get the whole engine along with the ecu...use si axles

you can get used si trannies for around $100-$200

I know where to get a engine and tranny. Theres a place around here that stocks and sells used jap. engines. But I don't know if they sell ECU's.

Any places on the net that you can point me too, or know of any place I can get a new ECU?

How much do ECU's run price wise?

don't pay more then 75 I see them on www.ebay.com alot but if you can go to the yard and get one its cheaper and you'll probably find some stuff for the car that you might need.

What do I look for? Just a PGM-FI from a '88-'91 Civic/CRX 1.6L?

If I got one from a yard I wouldn't know what to pull off, or what to snag.

Would I just get the ECU box itself? Is the wiring the same, its just the computer is different?

i just noticed that you live in cali...a zc won't pass smog...i'm not sure if the whole state has smog checks or only around the big cities

as for importing an engine...get the whole unit...engine/tranny/ecu/distributor b/c you'll be happier and pay less in the long run...this way you can always go back to 1 person if a part is bad

Yeah I understand that the ZC won't pass smog. I was just thinking of doing the swap.

I may just go with the Si engine. Do you know of any other non-Vtec engines I could swap in, since my choices are narrowed to just one?

How bout an Accord 2.0L? Since I have to change tranny's anyways. How much power do they make? Any other ideas?

the 86-89 b20a series (a red headed step child to the other b series engines) make little power and are not friendly to tuning...they are not worth the effort unless you just want to be as rare as you can be...it also wouldn't mount properly and you'd have to get custom mounts made

here's a list of avail d series engines
http://www.hondaswap.com/reference/i...hp?mode=engine

there are few usdm d series engines that make over 100hp in stock form
d16a6 88-91 sohc si...108hp
d16z6 92-95 sohc vtec...126hp
d15b7 92-95 sohc...102hp
d16y8 96-00 sohc vtec...127hp
d16y7 96-00 sohc...106hp
