Default Sohc V-tec

I got a question. I got a 1993 1.5 V-TEC and am putting it in a 1990 civic. the 90 was DPFI so I put on a 88-91 manifold and converted my dx harness. My question is can I use the 93 Distributor or do I have to get me a 88-91 SI distributor? Thanks

88-91 Si distributor. It doesn't bolt up exactly, you have to play with it a bit. Only two of the three bolts will align, IIRC.

Use the OBD-0 Si distributor unless you plan to use the OBD-1 P28 ECU. More conversion work would be needed to run a P28.

You have to use the Si distributor if you keep your Si ECU.

Okay that is what I was thinking. Because I am using the 93 distributor and my car isn't starting and I was thinking maybe it is bacause that dist. is for a OBD1 ecu and mines is OBD0. You think thats it?

Yeah, that would cause some problems.

What are you using for VTEC activation? An RPM switch?

I haven't hook up the v-tec to anything yet. I am waiting for the car to turn on first then I plan on buying a RPM switch. Have you ever heard of someone succesfully doing this swap? And if so with the 92-95 dist and leaving there car OBD-0. I think this is what is causing me problems and am probably going to switch to a 88-91 dist. But if has been done before succesfully then there is something else that is not letting my car start. let me know
