Can't rev pass 3000 rpm!!!
I droped my zc in my rex the got my wiring done and checked to see if I had everthing in order and it looked like I did. I stared her up and she started but reved her up and she won't go pass 3000 rpm. I'm thinking that my guy at the wrecking yard gave me an automatic 88 integra ecu. Do you guys have any ideas, please help I need to drive my car!
Thanx |
ECU has nothing to do with it. I think your vacuum hoses have holes in them, because that is the only thing I ever hear about that limits your RPMS.

Most of them are new and the others are coo.

I'd check these things
- accelerator pedal travel (does it go all the way down) - throttle cable (with a friend in the drivers seat pushing the pedal watch the throttle cable travel where it is attached to the throttle body...remove the intake to the TB and check to see if the throttle plate goes to wide open throttle - if they are fine then i'd recheck all the vacuum lines including checking the connections for corrosion that could cause a leak on an otherwise good looking vacuum line - you never said what ecu you are running nor said if there are any codes being thrown one thing i always do when i'm stumped is call the dealer and ask to speak with a technician if the normal service representative can't help...i've diagnosed two simple problems from that method for free good luck |
I'm running a 88 integ ecu. The only code it is giving me is a 4.

check spark plugs and wires.........i had a spark plug wire pop out when i was driving and wouldn't go pass 4k RPM

sounds to me like you have a wiring problem at the distributor
|
Yeah me and my homies checked out the wiring and it looks like the cam sensor is hooked up to the #4 cylinder insted of the #1 cylinder.
|
Yo Hellracer how did you realize it was hooked up wrong. I mean what wires were they?(colors) I got the same problem wit a rex I am working on. thanks
