Default insurance companys suck

ok, im 15 (16 in six months) and i wanna get a 88-91 crx si. i've wanted a crx for the last couple of years(since i was into imports) and its basically my dream car. so anyway, i got my mom to call Erie Insurance (what my parents have) and they said that i would have to put it on my parents account thing and my parents dont want this. plus it would prolly cost more for insurance (than a hatch). they sed that hatches would be fine tho. i really dont understand why there is a difference. the crx has two seats, but that dont make it faster or more dangerous. im really disappointed, but i'll prolly buy a 88-91 hatch for my first car, and a newer hatch for my nice car after i'm 17 or 18.

crx is considered a sports car...

my insurnace company didn't know what a crx was so they put it under 91 civic...saved me some $$$

no...it's the thousands of punk kids that can't drive responsibly that did you in on the price.

insurance companies do suck, but for many other reasons.

insurance companies do a power to weight ratio and the crx has a pretty good one as tis light...also a 2 seater which hurts too

My '89 Civic Hatch DX is considered a sports car according to Geico. It had 92hp!!! It has 140hp now, but they don't know that :rick:

well.. if you want a cheap rate, you should stay on your parents policy. cause if not your insurance could be DOUBLE. my brother is 18 and was thinking about going on his own insurance and it was gonna double on him.

i don't think my rex is considered a sports car but then again it isnt my most expensive or primary car to insure.

Cruiser is. Hatch and CRX are about identical for me to insure. When i got quotes, the hatch is like 100 cheaper every six months or something. i can't wait for next year when i have to insure all 3
