Default 88dx hatch

I bought one for 300 dollars yesterday what should I know about the 88s. Its a 5speed cloth interior no clock no rear speakers. I thought it would make a nice junkyard car. Timing was done 20000 miles ago and it has new exhaust and brakes and clutch was done 15000 miles ago. It does need a rear strut and a radiator and rust work over the rear wheel well but for three hundred I couldn't pass it up. If I get the guage cluster from a 89 crx will it just plug and play or does it have to be exact year.

88 and 89 Gauges are interchangable.

88s had Independent Rear Suspensions like an ITR does.

Other than that I don't know much about them.

88s had passive rear steering built in its rear suspension...it makes the car a little more twitchy than all other crxs...it helps on the track but don't drive it at 10/10ths on the road unless you want to force you and your passengers to have to change your pants afterwards

enjoy your new car...i bought my 88 hf for $500 and love it all the more

Well I'm gonna put the black steelies on it and I found some clear sidelamps in the basement unopened that the guy said would fit my wagon like 3 years ago. I put on a right side mirror and now I gotta stuff and stitch the drivers seat. Its gonna need an axle but for 300 who cares. I'm gonna do the rust over the wheels and then sell her or maybe practice the dpi to mpfi change over:thumbup:. It would be sweet to have a 88dx with a b16 it real light no extras at all.
