Default White smoke, headgasket replaced....what else?

There is white smoke from my exhaust, even at idle. I have replaced the headgasket, but the smoke is still there! What could it be?

How long has it been since you've replaced the head gasket?

Did you do it yourself?? Did you make sure that all of the old gasket was off of both the head and block before you put the new one on?? If you did, then by doing so, did you scratch the block/head surface which might account for a leak?

Does it rain a lot where you live? Water in the muffler could cause that...:dunno:

As for WhiteRice's comments, any screw-up when installing a headgasket can make it leak. Even if you think you did it perfectly, there is always the chance something went wrong that you didn't know about. Try having compression and leak-down tests done.

How old is your PCV valve? That prevents the engine from smoking because of gunk in the engine.
