are all zc DOHC or are some of them SOHC?

There is DOHC, SOHC, and SOHC VTEC.

how do I tell what my zc is? I know its not VTEC

it should say on the engine. just look for it.

They say ZC where the engine stamp is. Any idiot can tell a DOHC from a SOHC as DOHC is like twice as big a valve cover. As for VTEC 99% of the time it will say it somewhere on the valve cover if it has it, or perhaps look for the VTEC solenoid, though I have no idea where that is as I've never had a VTEC engine.

it doesn't say on it and I am new to this stuff so I need more info on how to tell whether its DOHC or SOHC. thanks

DOHC:


If it looks half as wide as that it is SOHC. It will look like a Twinkie with a distrubutor on the side.

If it's a sohc and vtec the solenoid will be right behind the dizzy connected to the block right above the intake manifold flange. It should have two connectors on it, a grey one and green one.
