Default bigger alternator

where can i get a bigger alternator for my 91 dx?...i've seen people with i think 120 amp nippon denso alternators...where can i get one of these?...thanks

You can get yours either from a Nippon Denso dealer or an alternator shop. We have one here that does specials for the local tuner shop. They do full rebuilds and ship too. Check your yellow pages.

why would u need a bigger alternator in the first place? unless u have huge amps in the back of ur car id think ur oem one would do just fine

maybe underdrive pulleys or hes thinking of putting in a system...

sorry...yeah, doin a system real quick...gettin some subs that are 200(both) new for 20(both)...theyre blown but the company will swap them out...i'll try your suggestions...and this wont be stayin in too long...gonna sell it all to a friend...thanks for the hlep:thumbup:

also get a compacitor for your system.....rockford fostgate makes good ones

i'm really not thinkin i'll need a cap...the amp i'm usin only pulls a max of 57 amps so...we'll see though...i might end up needin one

would the alternator from an SI put out more amps?...cause of the sunroof or something?...sorry to bring up this thread from the dead, but it's better than starting a new one

I personally would do a cap before I would do a bigger alternator. I have a system in my CRX with a factory alternator and a 1 farad cap from Memphis. I haven't had a problem yet.

OT but, where do you live in Atlanta? Do you live in the city of Atlanta or outskirts (Marietta, Woodstock, etc.) Just curious seeing as I live in Georgia too and I like meeting people that are in to fourth gens like me.

get one from a 93 teg ls. its about a 70 or 80 amp 10 or 20 more amps then ours. bolts in and plugs up. Or visit http://www.mralternator.com/
