Default my 90 crx! i'm open to ideas... anyone got any?

i got a crx 2 months ago and there's black smoke comming out of the exhaust... it's leaving a residue on my back bumper. the guy i got it from told me the engine has type r parts, but not which parts were changed. he also said that the engine was rebuilt 60 thou ago. also note i have greddy exhaust system and headers. am i running to rich, and if i am what are some steps to making my exhaust nice and Not Black!!

is it the starter? fuel pump? computer? distributor? gimme somewhere to start at least

you have carbon buildup thats what the black stuff is on the back of your car, i have it also. Usually black smoke you dont worry about, once it is white smoke then you have some problems. Run some cleaner through the motor and then go blast down the freeway, you should be set to go after that.

yes one that cleans injectors and carbon buildup, the best one i have seen used is at jiffy lube non the less, one bottle in the oil, one in the gas, and then one ran straight through the vacuum system to the injectors (3 part cleaner) that stuff does wonders

how hard is it to install a master cylinder on my crx if i've never done it before? i just bought one yesterday afternoon and some guy wants 80 for labor.

first thing that you will want to do is buy a helms manual, those things are great. If you dont know what you are doing then take it to somebody that does. But you should definately get a helms manual, go on google and just type in helms manual, they arent cheap but they are great tools to have

which helms manual? i'm at the page now where i can select owners manual, owners manual supplement, service manual supplement and a couple others.
