Default Thermostat problem

I know this is going to be a stupid question to some... where is my thermostat and how do i put my new one in? Anyone know any picture by picture type things for a person that doesnt do that type of maintanance? Thanks.

its actually pretty easy, follow your lower radiator hose to the back of the motor, where it hooks to is the thermostat housing. there will be three (3) 12mm bolts holdint it on, take those off and you will see the thermostat, make a mental note on how it is in there, pull it out, go to the local parts store get a replacement get a replacement thermostat and gasket, along with some coolant, go home and change out. you will need the 180 degree thermostat, if you have any more questions hit me up on AIM

You may want to get a thermostat from a Honda dealer. I have heard a lot of horror stories of cheap parts store replacement thermostats breaking up, sticking open, or sticking closed.

Kai,
I'll second that. The Honda part actually costs less than the same part at NAPA...and the Honda part is a hefty piece of brass compared to the tinny POS that NAPA sells. YMMV though, I haven't sampled what other fine purveyors offer. But I'll stick with the Honda parts from now on.

I dont know what nappa is... i got an OEM thing...fixed it last night....drove the car around for an hour and it seemed fine...but the real test will be this afternoon in the lovely hot CA sun.

the factory one will do you just fine, actually better than the one i recommended, but ya that should fix it
