Default D15B2...head swaps?

Sorry, I'm sure this has been posted a dozen times, but I can't find what I'm looking for. h:

Is there a popular head swap for the '88-'91 Civic in DX trim? I keep hearing about the mini me VTEC conversion for the CRX, would this work on the Civic DX?

Any other info or faq's would be great.

Thanks,
Erik

yes it will work. It just involves a little more work then doing it on a si motor. This article will help you a little bit. http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html

Default hp/torque gains?

What kind of hp/torque increase will I see with this swap?

Am I better off just getting a ZC long block/ecu, etc.?

I would say go with a zc I'm not sure on the hp numbers with the mini me but when I had a zc years ago I loved it more then my buddies sohc vtec. There are a few guys on here with the zc and they love it too, and it likes boost.

It depends how badly you want DOHC. Swapping a ZC will be more expensive but will probably give you a higher jump in HP. The SOHC VTEC head on a 1.5 block will not give quite as much power as if it was on a 1.6 block, so don't expect the engine you build to preform like a Z6 or a Y8 without extra work.
