Transmission question
I'm considering a swap to a ZC or D16A6 and was wondering if its possible to mount either to an automatic transmission. My 89 LX is automatic and i'm trying to keep the cost of the swap down for now. I read online that the D16A6 only came with a manual transmission....so is an ECU available to use it with an automatic?
i believe the zc will hook up to any d series tranny and u can use whatever ecu comes in ur car, obviously the zc tranny or si would yield more power but urs should do just fine. what car are u running so we can help you more.
I'm looking to do the swap in an 89 Civic LX. My concern with the transmission and ECU is because the LX has a PM5 ECU, as well as DPFI. After conversion to MPFI, I'll need a new ECU. If i'm guessing correctly, I'll need a PM6, PM7, or PG7 ECU because of the LX wiring harness, that comes from a car that had an automatic transmission to be compatible with my transmission.
