kinda an extreme change ideas???
ok i currently have a b16a1 with a y1 transmission (both of which arent in great shape), im leaking oil into every cylinder (probably worn rings, with a combination of a blown head gasket) which is fouling the spark plugs about every 2 weeks i have to pull them and clean them, plus for all those who have been reading my latest posts my transmission is pretty much toast, the flywheel ring gear has been rewelded to the flywheel twice now, as well as the starter holes have been redrilled due to them being stripped out completely with my starter being ripped off the car quite a few times due to it binding with the flywheel ring gear, now ive been saving for a turbo/intercooler setup, and planned on having the engine rebuilt with new lower compression pistons, but today when i was driving around i was thinking??? why???, i'm spending so much money on this car all the time and i dont really have a need to anymore, i'm still young only 21 and still enjoy the speed but i am starting to consider just downgrading to a zc long block, now ive got a d15b6 sitting in my garage with all the parts that came from a swap i did for a friend of mine abou a month ago and havent yet gotten rid of nething, so i was going over the idea of using the transmission from the d15b6 to attach to a zc long block and just going the cheap route of NO2, $$$ wise itd be alot cheaper than what i was originally planning on doing and speed wise pretty quick, no it wont be the fastest car around but it will still be fun, neways i guess my question is what would i need in order to run the zc long block assembly with the parts from a d15b6 ive still got the old motor mounts, and the original hf axles and tranny and as far as i know the tranny is still in good condition. sorry so long any insight helpful so write whatever comes to ur heads
The HF tranny is horribly long geared, you can do like 110 in 3rd. If I were you sell that B16A to someone, to a mechanic or someone mechanically inclined it wouldn't be too hard to fix. Get the ZC and turbo that instead, at least then the HF trannys long gears will be of some use.
yah i know about it being geared extremely high and im planning on rebuilding the b16 i just dont want to keep running it cuz now every time i go to start ive got a cloud of some from the oil comsuption, but i dont want to have to share cars with my gf, so i figured get a zc long block use the existing tranny thats just sitting there and wala ive got a useable semi fast car while my engine is out of commission. what all will i need to swap out though, obviously get a zc long block assembly integra ecu or zc ecu or si. what other components am i looking at?
i have an hf 88 crx, a full hf changeover with all original parts from a previous swap, and a full b16 changeover currently in the car, im buying the zc long block what will need to be used from the existing motors and what else will i need to buy is my question
