Default Noisy Valvetrain :(

I'm at my witts end w/ this valve train. My valve train makes clackity clackity clackity sound. I adjusted the valve lifters w/ my feeler gauge and they are the correct height. Does anyone have this type of problem? or seen this type of problem? i don't know what else to check other than replacing the head?!

When i adjusted the valve lashing that's what i did. It only makes the noise when the engine is running. and i can't run it w/ the valve cover off it pumps oil all over the place. My friend suggested maybe it's a rocker arm? or an oil blockage

yah rocker arm could be it, but check all ur springs and do a visual check of ur camshaft make sure there arent any notches or excessive wear on that either, if u have alot of time u can get a kit to replace the valves and do new springs all together, take it all apart and put it back together but i dont know how much work ur looking into doing with this. sticking valves could be ur problem also.

It def. get's quieter as it warms up. but not amazingly quieter. My pop said he thought it might be a sticking valve too. This is my only vehicle (my wife drives the accord). how long would it take to do the valves?

Sticking Valves? Like one valve not going back up? Sort of impossible on a Honda since the piston would hit it and break your engine.

depends on how mechanically inclined u are, requires pulling off the valve cover, undoing the spring assemblies and the rocker arms, pulling the camshaft and then the valves, and then reinstalling it all, get a helms manuel first and alot of ziplock baggies, not really hard but time consuming and u do have to remove the camshaft which requires removing ur timing belt, get a car manual and check out the work involved

for removing the camshaft and timing belt. would i need a cherry picker or can i just jack the engine up? or is that not necessary?
