Default 1980 Civic

I have a chance of getting a 1980 civic in almost perfect condition. The body is amazing condition, and the interior is great. The engine is fukked, and only runs on two cylinders. Thats no problem for me cause I wanted to swap anyways.

Anyone think it would be possible to get aftermarket stuff for 1980 civic? And what kind of engine could I fit in there?

no, tell him he's dumb. it is a VERY common reliable swap and has alot of potential and aftermarket. way more than the si motor.

my "originally knowledgeable" mechanic told me putting a turbo on the crx dx motor couldn't be done, and now i'm rollin went by the shop and rattled the BOV sound off the wall at his shop to bug him

fyi--

Swapping a efi engine into a car with a carburated engine is considerably more diffucult due to the wiring required to get the swap to work. I'm speaking somewhat from experience (helped my bro put a efi 350ci [5.7 liter] engine in his '76 chevelle). There may be a company that sells a wiring kit for honda efi conversion swaps, like how painlesswiring.com sells kits for chevies.

Thanks for the help guys, and girls. I want this 1980 Civic cause it would be a really unique show car, with a lil power. What I really need to know is will the engine FIT into the engine bay. I mean, its a smaller car. Anyone know where I can get these specs?

You should be able to fit just about any D-series engine you want in there, beyond that you won't find much info unless you find an e-mail list that caters to that generation civic or find someone that has built one that knows the ins and outs. I like the older bodystyles, keep us up to speed if you carry through.

look into swapping in the jdm turbo honda motors from the city turbo and city turbo ii...search the web b/c there are some sites out there with swaps of that nature...it'll be even more rare...especially with one of the only factory turbo hondas
