madd backfire...help!
driving my crx around today, and i kept hearing loud "pop" backfiring!? i've never heard it before, i was thinking maybe it was because i need a new mid-pipe section and cat.? what do u guys think? all i have is a axel back exhaust...

It could be that straight pipe. The cat is designed to catch and convert unburned fuel to hydrocarbons. If you don't have that cat in place, the unburned fuel is travelling down the exhaust piping, getting hot enough to ignite, and *POP*.
