Yesterday while driving down the interstate it just started making beeping noises. The noise is coming from the cd player area. It is a 5 spd and has just over 200k miles on it. Also, about 2 minutes from my house the check engine light came on. It beeps either 7 or 9 times. Does anyone know what would be causing this. Thanks for any help.

does it only do the beeping when your stereo is turned on?

also put the key in your ignition and turn to on...then pull up the carpet on the passenger side foot well and look through the ecu window and count the number of blinks you get (a really long pause mean its starting over...there also maybe more than one code thrown so you'll have to be patient)

 

I think it only happens when the cd player is on. I will have to check that the next time I drive. I will go out there now and look for the blinks.

 

Actually it's kinda cold out there tonight. I will have to look at it tomorrow before I go to work. Whar are some of the comon codes it will throw?

It did not make the noises today. Only last night when I had the heater on. I had the AC on today and it did not make the beeps. This is so confusing.

 

Common guys, can anyone help me. It only beeps when the heater is on.

you got me on this...my rex doesn't even have a radio anymore...or an interior...or currently a working engine

did you get any codes on the ecu?...i can help you from there but for that strange beeping noise i'm at a loss
