Default Tranny Fluid in a 91 CRX si

you are suppose to use motor oil correct?

what is better, honda tranny fluid or like a 10 w 30? thanks!

motor oil is just fine

i use 10w40

I use 10w40 as well. You can pick up some Honda MTF at your local dealer if you want to instead of oil.

I heard motor oil should only be used temporarily, and Honda fluid is most recommended because it has something in it to prevent grinding or something.

The factory manual, the owner's manual, and every service manual I've read have always said that 10w30 is the recommended fluid. I've used 10-40, but it gets a bit stiff in cold weather.
