Default wondering bout engine swap

Hey, i have a 1985 crx its in good running condition but for one problem. the bearing in the axil is stripped and i think i need to replace the axil, for one how much will this cost? Another ? is i was wondering if i can engine swap a b-16a into a yr. 85 crx. plz help me out, this is my first car and i know very little, thanx.

I think hasport has a kit for putting a b series engine into a 84-87 civic/crx. not sure though

depends on what model 1g crx you have...putting a b16 into requires the conversion over to multiport fuel injection if you don't have the Si model

If you know very little, you should go ahead and purchase a manual (chiltons/helms/etc) for the car you have. Then you'll have that to read up on. Then also buy a manual for whichever engine you decide to toss in. Just an idea. Hope that doesnt' sound like I'm being a thingy head...just trying to help you out!

The last axle I had to replace (1986 Accord LXi, passenger side) only cost $50+core for a rebuilt unit. The only problem I had was a frozen suspension fork-LCA bolt which required a new LCA ($115), suspension fork-LCA bolt ($8), and nut for the aforentioned bolt ($3). After I aquired all the parts and a few more tools (32mm impact socket, ball joint puller) I had it together in about an hour.

Just don't forget to replace the cotter pins like "some people":exnbp:
