it seems that those damned impact beams add quite a bit of weight to the car. my 91 Si, according to another honda site, weighs in at 2164 pounds. my buddy's 89 civic hatch weighs in at, according to the same honda site, 2017 pounds. Does this sound accurate?

 

depends what model, si is the heaviest, DX then HX is the lightest

 

There is no Pre-1992 Civic HX. Assuming he means 88-91s it was STD, DX, and Si for the Hatch, HF, DX, and Si for the CRX.

The 91 Si CRX was a porker [well, compared with other similar cars anyways], sorry to say. So yeah, that sounds about right.

Acutually thats backwards.. the si crx is still lighter than the si civic.

88 hf crx was the lightest ef civic/crx (lighter than the 1g crx si and i think the dx too!)
