91 Civic DX D15 motor?
Going on? Have a co worker who's looking at buying a 91 DX sedan 5 spd that was traded in. It has like 190k. It's in ok condition w/ the D15. I told him if he get it not to pay more than $500. He just want as a commuter to not drive his van much. He want a little more power but not spend alot of money. I said to look for a D16 Si/EX motor w/ 108 hp vs the 70 hp I believe it has.
He won't need anything xtra since it's still a D series. If it's anything I'm missing for changing the motor let me know because don't follow the D series muchThanks.
I'll let my co worker know whatever info I recieve.

you are missing quiet a bit. motor, tranny, ecu, multiport conversion. multi port conversion requires intake mani, injectors, dizzi, injector resistor box, and a little wiring know how.

OK. I'll let him know. He's getting it for 200. Didn't realize the D needed that much work like a B series. So would he be better off going that route or since he have to do some mods what about the mini me people do. I told him about that swap & just guessing said w/ a D16 block & a sohc vtec head he should have about maybe 120 hp just guessing. Will let my co worker know Thur.
Thanks

with a mini-me you have to do an obd-0 to obd-1 harness or rig it up ghetto on a rpm activated switch. for 200 you can multi port it pretty cheap. tons of sites on the web that can walk you through it. the multi port is the first step, then i would worry about v-tec
