Default question about 4th gens, help plz :)

as most of you know im about to buy a 91 civic ex sedan.

i was going to go D16Z6 turbo, but ive recently been offered an 87 CRX with a B18A1 swap for a very good price.

will i be able to use the mounts i have between both cars to swap the B18A1 into the sedan, and also will i be able to swap the suspension (for the rear brakes) onto the sedan?

if not a direct bolt on, what would i need to do these two things?

any help is appreciated

3rd gen B series mounts are not the same as 4th gen mounts. The most you'd be able to use is the engine and tranny.

As you've probably noticed also, there isn't a lot of room under the hood of a first gen CRX when there's a B-series stuffed in there, so your options are limited if you don't want to hack up a car and decide to maybe keep it.

No the 3G Civic/1G CRX have different mounts than the 4G Civic/2G CRX, so it will not be direct drop in. However all you would really need are some 4G b-series mounts and you would be good to go for getting it in the car. And you can't swap the rear discs from the CRX because it has a solid beam rear axel and the Sedan would have independent rear so none of it is the same.

But why not just buy the CRX and fix that up? Its lighter than a sedan and it already has the engine in it.

First gen CRX's do not have disk brakes in the rear standard. The only rear disks that would be found would be from a first gen teg.

I would think 90-93 Integra Axels would all be the same. I think you use them. Sometimes you need different intermediate shafts and I'm not sure what those are exactly.

For the linkage you can cut the Sedan's and weld it together. Or order a pre-fab one from HASport.
