'89 civic hatch question
i have an '89 hatchback dx civic, and i am making a drag car out of it. it's completely gutted, so now i'm thinking of how to build the motor.
my question is: how much hp will a d15 make with 8.5-1 compression pistons, new rods, and about 23 psi of boost possibly make?

D15 can be made fast but if your car is strictly drag and you are hardcore about it don't mess with D-series. Get a B18A and turbo that if you want to go F/I.

aight, well, i have a b18 from a '96 teg, but i am supposedly selling it to one of my friends. therein lies my problem you see.
i don't really know where would be a good place to aquire a b-series motor around ne mississippi, but i would really rather have one of those to build. i'm just trying to weigh the option of going with a b motor and buying a new ecu and doing the wiring, or just using the d15 and build it to its max potential. so, does anyone know about how much hp potential a d15 really has?

I think the most power a D16A6 has made as been 240hp all motor. So with turbo it could be more. But D15 is DPFI and most others MPFI so doing a swap for that would be better.

you can slap an Ls engine in from a 2nd gen teg real easy. Just need motor mounts, ecu and shift linkage. See if you can find one at a junkyard, and build it up.

for b-series, and h-series for that matter, try osakajdmmotors.com or do a search for them in the in the for sale forum. they got some good prices and their customer feedback seems pretty good.
