Quick question ?????????
the setup would depend on how much you're willing to spend. an ls vtec just consists of an ls bottom & vtec head. as far as building the motor, you could use stock oem parts or use aftermarket internals. some ls vtecs will run 14s, others will run 11s.
Well they started in 1990 I guess with the first B18 Integras. 90-91 was ODB-O, 92-93 was ODB-1. After that was B18Bs I think which are probably ODB-2. The head can come from any VTEC B-series like the B16A, B18C (GSR or Type-R). I think, not positive. But you have to use certain internals to make it work right.
the b16 head flows better than the gsr head. i'm not sure on the exacty details of why/how this is, but that is the general idea.
the lsvtec's that are powerful enough to go 11s usually have P&P done and have 13:1 compression, with a gutted interior and drag slicks. or lsvtec turbo could put a car into the 11s

yah ur just starting with ur ls nonvtec engine and putting on a vtec head, not sure exactly what bottom ends u can use and what heads u put on, do a search, my friend had a base model 99 integra and put a vtec head on his car and the gain is pretty good for the buck.
Ok, short and sweet.
Potential blocks ("bottom ends"):
B18A (90-93 Integra)
B18B (94-01 Integra)
Potential heads ("top ends")
PR3 (B16A Si-R, B17A GS-R)
PR3 (B18C Type R, B18C5)
P72 (B18C Si-G, B18C1 GS-R)
Then you ream some holes, run a new oil line, and more modifications depending on how high you want to rev it.
The LS/VTEC hybrid is not generally considered a "noob" engine because it must be custom built depending on application.

hmm sounds to hard fo rme.. but an inquiring mind must know... how would you go about with the oil lines and etc.. i mean i have heard its almost bolt on..(the head to the bottom end from different models)
